Your numbers, and what we do with them.
This covers smallbusinessoperators.com and the SBO Data Puller — the application we use to read your QuickBooks numbers into the reporting we deliver. Effective July 23, 2026.
01Who we are.
Small Business Operators, LLC, 5441 S Macadam Ave #6141, Portland, OR 97239. California office: 2108 N St, Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816. Reach a person at hello@smallbusinessoperators.com.
02What the SBO Data Puller reads.
Read-only, and only from the QuickBooks Online company you authorize. Profit and loss, balance sheet, sales and expense transactions, account and vendor names, and the report totals behind them.
It never writes to your books. It does not post a transaction, change a coding, or alter a single figure. The connection runs one direction.
03What it never touches.
No bank or credit-card login credentials. No card numbers. No payroll records held outside QuickBooks. Nothing beyond the accounting data in the company file you connect.
04Why we read it.
One reason: to produce the reporting you hired us for — The SBO Brief and your dashboard.
Your numbers are never sold, rented, shared with advertisers, pooled with anyone else's, or used to train any model. There is no second use.
05Where it goes.
Into a scheduled job we run on Google Cloud, and into a Google Sheet and Drive folder scoped to your business alone. Encrypted in transit and at rest.
Connection credentials live in Google Cloud Secret Manager. Never in a spreadsheet, never in an email, never in a file sitting in a folder.
06Who can see it.
The people at SBO who work on your account, and nobody else. Everyone with access is bound to keep it confidential. We use no subcontractors who can see your books.
07The website.
Basic traffic counts, and whatever you type into a form on this site — your name, email, the name of your restaurant, and what you tell us. We use it to answer you.
No advertising trackers, no data brokers, nothing sold.
08How long we keep it.
For as long as we work together, plus the period our own tax and accounting obligations require. Ask for deletion at any time and we delete everything we are not legally required to hold, and tell you in writing what is left and why.
09Turning it off.
Disconnect whenever you want, three ways: inside QuickBooks under Settings → Apps → Disconnect; at smallbusinessoperators.com/qbo-disconnect; or by emailing us.
The reading stops that moment. Your books are untouched, because we never wrote to them.
10Your rights.
Ask what we hold. Ask for a copy. Ask us to correct it. Ask us to delete it. Email us and a person answers in writing, usually the same day.
Residents of California and other states with privacy statutes have these rights by law. We extend them to everyone, because drawing a line at a state border would be silly.
11If something goes wrong.
If your data is ever exposed, we tell you promptly and in writing — what happened, what was involved, and what we are doing about it. No quiet handling.
12Not for children.
This is a service for businesses. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.
13Changes.
If this changes, the date below changes with it. For anything that actually affects you, we tell you directly rather than leaving you to notice.
