Terms of use. Short, and meant to be read.
These cover smallbusinessoperators.com and the SBO Data Puller. Effective July 23, 2026.
01What this covers.
Your use of smallbusinessoperators.com and of the SBO Data Puller, our application that reads your QuickBooks Online data into the reporting we deliver.
Bookkeeping and advisory work is governed by your signed engagement letter. Where these terms and that letter differ, the engagement letter wins.
02What the SBO Data Puller is.
A read-only application built and run by SBO on Intuit's developer platform. It is provided as part of an SBO engagement. It is not sold separately and not licensed to the public.
03Your authorization.
You connect it yourself, from inside your own QuickBooks company, with one click. By connecting, you confirm you have the authority to authorize access to that company file.
You can revoke that authorization at any time, without asking us first.
04What you may not do.
Do not resell, copy, reverse-engineer, or hand access to anyone outside your business. Do not use it to reach a QuickBooks company you are not entitled to see.
05Your data stays yours.
We claim no ownership of your books, your numbers, or anything in your QuickBooks company. It is yours before, during, and after.
06What we promise.
Careful work, done by people who have run restaurants, on the schedule set in your engagement letter.
What we produce is only as good as what goes in. If source data is incomplete or wrong, the reporting reflects that — and we tell you when we see it.
07What we do not promise.
Uninterrupted service. QuickBooks, your POS, and every other provider in the chain can change, break, or go down, and we do not control any of them. When something breaks, we tell you and we fix what we can.
08Not an audit, not tax advice.
SBO provides bookkeeping and advisory work. This is not an audit, a review, or any attest engagement, and it is not legal or tax advice. Your CPA files your return; we keep the numbers clean for them.
09What we are on the hook for.
Our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid SBO in the twelve months before the claim. Neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses.
10Ending it.
Either of us can stop, per your engagement letter. Disconnect the application and the reading stops immediately. Nothing is written to your books at any point, so there is nothing to unwind.
11Changes to these terms.
If these change, the date below changes with them, and we tell you directly about anything material.
12Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon.
