The Break Room · The Tip Jar

Official rules. The short, honest kind.

Sponsor: Small Business Operators, LLC ("SBO") · smallbusinessoperators.com

01No purchase necessary.

Posting on The Break Room is free. Buying anything from SBO — or being an SBO client — does not affect your chances in any way.

02How to enter.

Post on The Break Room and include an email address in the optional email field. One entry per post; post as often as you like. Posts without an email are welcome on the board but can't win — we'd have no way to reach you. Your email is never published, sold, or added to a list without your say-so.

03Who can enter.

Legal residents of the United States, 18 or older, who work in or own a food-service business. SBO's people and their families can post but can't win.

04The weekly Tip Jar — a contest of skill, not chance.

Each Friday around 3:00 PM Pacific, a real person at SBO picks the best post of that week — judged on humor, honesty, and originality. Decisions are final. Prize: a $25 digital reward delivered by email through Tremendous; the winner picks their own gift card from the available catalog. Approximate retail value: $25. About 52 winners a year.

05The quarterly draw — a sweepstakes of chance.

Once per quarter, one poster who entered during that quarter is selected at random to win a Margin Audit performed by SBO (approximate retail value: $2,200). Odds depend on the number of eligible entries. Entry is the same as rule 02 — no purchase necessary.

06Claiming.

Prizes go to the email on the entry. If a weekly prize sits unclaimed for 14 days, it's withdrawn and a new winner is picked. Prizes aren't transferable and can't be exchanged for cash, except where a cash-equivalent card is offered in the catalog.

07Prize limits and taxes.

No individual may win more than $500 in total prize value per calendar year (the quarterly Margin Audit excepted). Winners are responsible for any taxes on prizes; SBO will issue tax forms where the law requires.

08Play it straight.

SBO may disqualify entries that break the board's house rules — real names of people or businesses, threats, spam, or content posted by bots — and may pause or end the program at any time with notice on the page. Posts are moderated by a person before publication and may be lightly redacted for privacy. Never edited for spice.

09Privacy.

Emails collected for entry are used to deliver prizes and, only if you signed up for it, the weekly digest. That's the whole list.

10The boring but required part.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Tremendous or any gift-card brand in the catalog. Void where prohibited. Disputes are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon.
